Stamp Duty: • Urban areas: 5% of property value • Rural areas: 4% of property value

Registration Charges: • 0.5% of property value • Min ₹1,000, Max ₹20,000

Additional Charges: • Transfer Duty: 1.5% • Mutation Fee: ₹200 - ₹500

Exemptions: • Women buyers: No special exemption currently • First-time buyers: Check for subsidy schemes

Total cost typically: 6-7% of property value
